Club News
The Red Oak Child Development Center has had an incredible summer and we decided that a celebration was in need and on Friday we had our “End of Summer Bash”. As you can see…it was a huge success. They had such a wonderful time getting to be creative and get messy…and boy did we get messy. We had bubbles and paints and just let them go crazy.
We would like to say thank you to The Red Oak Rotary Club for providing us with our delicious lunch today. After playing hard all morning and afternoon it
was a wonderful treat. And also a big thank you to all those who helped make this party happen.

We are always thrilled when we have the opportunity to welcome new members to our Rotary family!  In August, we were joined by Dan Pollock (second from left), a math teacher at our very own Red Oak Community School District and husband to our Treasurer, Stephanie Vinton-Pollock.  Joining them in the photo are their two children (and future Rotarians of course) are Will and Viv.  Second from right, is Shawnna Silvius, Economic Development Planner for the Omaha-Council Bluffs MAPA- Metropolitan Area Planning Agency.  Far right is Membership Chair, Doug Rieken.
On August 4th, we welcomed another new member to our club!  Ben Lundgren (pictured center) is a loan officer with Houghton State Bank and is originally from Red Oak. Ben is excited to be a part of Rotary, and looking forward to giving back to the community. Pictured on left is Rotarian and sponsoring member, Nick Zimmer, and the right is Tim Fridolph, President.
Last Tuesday on July 21st, we welcomed the Red Oak Community School District as a corporate member of our club! Pictured as the primary designee is Ron Lorenz, the new Superintendent of the district. Additional designees not pictured are Nate Perrin, Jr/Sr Principal, and Dr. Jane Challie, Elementary Principal. Rotarians pictured are Doug Rieken, Vice President, Membership Committee Chair & sponsoring member, and Tim Fridolph, President for the 2020-2021 year.

We are have gotten to know Ron a little over the past few weeks prior to his induction.  The Red Oak community at large, not just the school district, is blessed to have him and his family as an addition to our area.  Ron is looking forward to making a positive impact not just on the school district, but the local community as well.
Music has been an important part of leading an ordinary life for students at the Music School for Children With Disabilities in Honor of Paul Harris in Lublin, Poland. Founded by Rotary members, the school serves 20 students with various disabilities, including Down syndrome, autism, and visual impairments. The Rotary Club of Lublin-Centrum-Maria Curie-Sklodowska has provided funding with help from Rotary Foundation Matching Grants and the Henryk Wieniawski Musical Society, which houses the school.

After their son Mateusz was born with underdeveloped eyes, Mariusz and Joanna Kania looked for ways to help him be active. When he showed an aptitude for music, they looked for a teacher and were thrilled to find the Paul Harris music school.
