Greetings, Red Oak Rotarians!
I am so very excited by all the things that are happening in our club! We have a new member application to approve, the board is drafting a strategic plan for our continued growth and developement, and our new club extension will be starting next week!
Yes, our extension club will have their first meeting on Thursday, Oct. 17th at 5:30 at Stadium 34. All members are welcome to attend, as are any potential members for whom an evening meeting is more convenient. Both the noon club and the evening extension will fall under the umbrella of Red Oak Rotary and will work together on major projects and events. However, each club is also free to develop its own special focus and personality.
Next Tuesday is our business meeting. We need to vote on our new member, but other topics to discuss (and potentially vote on) include an invitation to join an International project, trick-or-treat on the trail, and officers for the upcoming year. Our club is successful because of the involvement of all of our members. While our board for the upcoming year only has a few openings, I would encourage you to volunteer as a committee chair or a board member-at-large.
Don't forget - the new club shirts have arrived. We have short-sleeve, long-sleeve, and tank tops available. Each shirt is $20. If you did not pre-order one, fear not! We do have extras available. In short-sleeve, we have 1 medium and 3 large shirts; in long-sleeve, we have 1 medium, 1 large, and 2 extra-large shirts; in tank tops, we have 2 medium, 2 large, and 2 extra-large available. I will have the shirts available at our meetings in October.
Respectfully,
Emily H. Martin
