Greetings, Red Oak Rotarians!
We are just barely into the month of August, but we have several things on our books to keep us busy. Next Tuesday is National Night Out (sign up to help serve sno-cones from 6-8). The following Tuesday (August 13) our District Governor, Tom Kerfoot, will be visiting our club. I hope each of you are able to attend, and we can show him how incredible our club is.
One of the activities we did last Tuesday at our club meeting was focused on our growth as individuals. Our club is only as strong as each of us are, and we all have such amazing talents and skills to contribute to our club! I know many of you choose a goal to work through the year, because that is what we do as Rotarians - we strive for growth and self-improvement. It might be patience or gratitude or prayer or any other. Whatever it is, members who attended the meeting on Tuesday were encouraged to paint a rock as a visible reminder of what they are working on.
As we continue to move forward with our year, I encourage each of you to challenge yourselve as Rotarians, and as individuals. Join a committee, participate in a new event, invite new members, host a program. Discover how important you are to our club!
Respectfully,
Emily H. Martin
