Now that the Rotary year has ended, we've updated all our goals. Click to see how did this year.

The Rotary Club Excellence Award (formerly known as the Rotary Citation) recognizes Rotary clubs that demonstrate strong performance and dedication to Rotary's goals. It acknowledges clubs that actively support Rotary's priorities through various activities and achievements. Goals must be achieved between July 1 and June 30.

Each year, we as a club have active conversations to set goals that are both realistic and challenging. These goals help us grow and develop as a club, and as members. To receive the Excellence Award, we must meet a minimum of 13 of our goals. Here's how we did:

*Priority Goals (green indicates achieved goals, red indicates unmet goals)

Enhance Participant Engagement:

  • *Service Participation (How many members will participate in club service activities during the Rotary year?) - edit: District has informed us that this is meant to be how many UNIQUE individuals participated in service projects. With 30 members, we can not have 50 participate in service projects. We amended our goal to 75% of our membership, which is 23 members. We had 24 different members participate in service projects.
  • Social Activities (How many social activities will your club hold outside of regular meetings during the Rotary year?) - Our goal was 4. We recorded 5.
  • Leadership Development Participation (How many members will participate in leadership development programs or activities during the Rotary year?) - Our goal was 2. We recorded 2.
  • District Conference Attendance (How many members will attend district conference?) - Our goal was 2. We recorded 1.
  • Use of Official Rotary Promotional Materials (Did our club use Rotary International's promotional, advertising and public service materials (videos, social media graphics, digital banners, etc.) available in the Brand Center, to post/share content to promote Rotary in our community throughout the Rotary year?) Yes/No
  • Rotary Fellowship Participation (How many club members will be members of a Rotary Fellowship during the Rotary year?) - Our goal was 4. We recorded 3.
  • District Training Participation (How many of your club's leaders will attend a learning event to prepare for their role?) - Our goal was 3. We recorded 3.

Increase Our Impact:

  • *Annual Fund Contributions (How much money will we contribute to The Rotary Foundation Annual Fund during the Rotary year?) - Our goal was $1,800. We recorded $3,404.
  • *PolioPlus Fund Contributions (How much money will we contribute to The Rotary Foundation PolioPlus Fund during the Rotary year?) - Our goal was $1,000. We recorded $1,197.
  • Service Projects (How many service projects will your club complete during the Rotary year? - Our goal was 4. We recorded 5.

Expand Our Reach:

  • *Club Membership (How many total members does our club want by the end of the Rotary year?) - Our goal was 35. We recorded 34.
  • New Member Sponsorship (How many members will sponsor a new club member during the Rotary year?) - Our goal was 4. We recorded 4.
  • Interact Clubs (How many new and existing Interact clubs will your club sponsor during the Rotary year?) - Our goal was 1. We recorded 0.
  • RYLA Participation (How many individuals will your club sponsor to participate in Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) events during the Rotary year?) - Our goal was 2. We recorded 0.
  • Media Stories About Club Projects (How many media stories will cover your club's projects during the Rotary year?) - Our goal was 4. We recorded at least 10.

Increase Our Ability to Adapt

  • *Strategic Plan (Do we have an up-to-date strategic plan?) - Yes/No
  • Online Presence (Does our club's branding (promotional materials, website, social media accounts) use current and correct Rotary logos and portray members as People of Action?) - Yes/No
  • Update Website and Social Media (During the Rotary year, how many times per month will our club's website and social media accounts be updated to reflect current activities and information of interest to the public?) - Our goal was 2. We recorded 2.
  • Review and Consider Updating Your Club Bylaws (Do our club bylaws reflect our members and other participants' needs?) - Yes/No

We achieved 14 of our 19 goals. Because we met at least 13 of our goals, we should be presented with the Rotary Club Excellence Award for this year. Our club is successful because of each of its members, and I am so extremely proud of all we do! YOU put the excellence in this award and in this club!
