We set 19 goals for our club. How have we done so far in working towards those goals?
Here's a quick check-in on our club goals. Of the 26 available goals, we chose 19 to work towards. We need to meet 13 of them to earn the Rotary Citation
Enhance Participant Engagement
- Service Particpation: How many members will participate in service activities during the year? Our goal is 50. So far, we have had 8 members participate in a service activity.
- Social Activities: How many social activities will our club hold outside of regular meetings during the Rotary year? Our goal is 4. Our first social opportunity is coming up this Tuesday, Oct 1st at Arlington Place at 5:30.
- Leadership Development Participation: How many members will participate in leadership development programs or activities during the Rotary year? Our goal is 2 and we had 2 members graduate from Rotary Leadership Institute in August, thus meeting this goal.
- District Conference Attendance: How many members will attend district conference? Our goal is 2. We have one registered to attend the conference Oct. 18-19. Who else will go and have an incredible Rotary learning and networking experience?
- Use of Official Rotary Promotional Materials: Did our club use Rotary International's promotional, advertising and public service materials (videos, social media graphics, digital banners, etc.) available in the Brand Center, to post/share content to promote Rotary in your community throughout the Rotary year? Our goal is yes, and yes, we utilized the Brand Center to create one-page ads that were displayed at the polio chili cook-off. These ads were designed with Rotary logos and verbiage and photos specific to our club. Although we've achieved this goal, there is much left to explore and use throughout the year on the Brand Center, so we will continue working on this.
- Rotary Fellowship Participation: How many club members will be members of a Rotary Fellowship during the Rotary year? Our goal is 4. We currently have 3 members who have joined a Fellowship. Is there one YOU might be interested in?
- District Training Participation: How many of your club's leaders will attend a learning event to prepare for their role? Our goal is 3. We haven't yet had the opportunity to attend one of these events.
Increase Our Impact
- Annual Fund Contributions: How much money will be contributed to The Rotary Foundation Annual Fund by your club and its members during the Rotary Year? Our goal is $1,800. So far, our grand total is $726. If you've been paying attention to our weekly thermometer in the newsletter, you'll notice a discrepancy. The $726 represents all funds donated by our members, both at the meeting and online. The thermometer only reflects the amount of donations received at meetings, as I do not have access to online donation details.
- Service Projects: How many service projects will our club complete during the Rotary year? Our goal is 4. Thus far, we have completed one - the highway clean-up.
- PolioPlus Fund Contributions: How much money will be contributed to The Rotary Foundation PolioPlus Fund by our club and its members during the Rotary year? Our goal is $1,000. With the recent completion of our polio chili cook-off, we should have met or exceeded this goal. An exact amount will be available at the next meeting.
Expand Our Reach
- Club Membership: How many total members does our club want by the end of the Rotary year? Our goal is 35. We currently have 31, which reflects the addition of our newest member. Let's keep recruiting!
- Interact Clubs: How many new and existing Interact clubs will your club sponsor during the Rotary year? Our goal is 1. We have not yet worked on this goal. However, we will be having a meeting at the high school in October to start the ball rolling on this.
- New Member Sponsorship: How many members will sponsor a new club member during the Rotary year? Our goal is 4. So far, we have one. Thank you, Kaylin, for sponsoring our newest member!
- Media Stories about Club Projects: How many media stories will cover your club's projects during the Rotary year? Our goal is 4. We were mentioned in the coverage of the county fair because of the presentation of the Service Above Self award and because of the livestock award we sponsor. I would imagine there will be a write-up of some kind about the chili cook-off. So, I'd say we have 1, possibly 2 media stories so far.
- RYLA Participation: How many individuals will our club sponsor to participate in RYLA events during the Rotary year? Our goal is 2. We did not get any youth from Red Oak registered, but there may still be an opportunity to sponsor a youth from another community to attend.
Increase Our Ability to Adapt
- Strategic Plan: Does your club have an up-to-date strategic plan? This is a yes or no response. We do not currently have a strategic plan. We will have one in place by January 1, which starts with the visioning activity we will be doing at our next meeting on Oct. 8.
- Online Presence: Does our club's branding (promotional materials, website, social media accounts) use current and correct Rotary logos and portray members as People of Action? This is another yes or no response. It is my believe that the answer to this is yes.
- Update Website and Social Media: During the Rotary year, how many times per month will our club's website and social media accounts be updated to reflect current activities and information of interest to the public? Our goal is 15 updates for the year. We have three updates so far.
- Review and Consider Updating Your Club Bylaws: Do our club bylaws reflect our members and other participants' needs? Another yes or no response. At this time, our answer is no.
It is exciting to see all that our club has accomplished in the first quarter of our year! At this rate, we will be able to meet our goals with no problem. Each of you are to thank for this growth and development as a club. Together, we are a mighty club!
